Rent-A-Grandma, Really?
So, you need a grandma, for a day? Then, rent one. A Los Angeles-based employment service has launched a national franchise business where you can hire a grandma for your domestic needs.
Rent-A-Grandma has already reached a tentative agreement with a Texas entrepreneur to roll out five franchises in the Texas.
The service provides carefully screened women age 50 and over for roles including child care, elder care, housekeeping, cooking, estate management, pet sitting and other domestic jobs.
The company's founder says older women bring an advantage, which is their extensive life experience.
There are currently 40 to 45 women working in Los Angeles with pay ranging from $16 to $23 an hour.
