Personalities, Whose Is Better? Nick’s or Les’s?[Video]
I'm from Alabama, so I was brought up loving Crimson Tide football. I even got to watch an Alabama, Vanderbilt game with my Dad when Bear Bryant was coach. My brothers got to go to the good games, but I didn't care.
Just being with my Dad and seeing Denny Chimes with Joe Namath, Bart Starr and Lee Roy Jordan's hand prints and autographs in cement was enough for me.
But looking through Dad's binoculars, there was "The Bear," standing up against the goal post with a cigarette in his hand, sporting his infamous hounds tooth hat.
Now, fast forward to 2011. You have Nick Sabin, who coached the LSU Tigers to a national championship in 2003, now coaching Alabama, with one national championship under their belt with Sabin as head coach.
And then there's LSU Head Coach Les Miles, who has coached the fighting Tigers to another national championship in 2007.
Let's look at their personalities. Both are good coaches with great teams.
But, that's where it ends for me.......
You have Sabin, whose lips you can read (cover your kid's eyes) and jerks off his headset, screaming at his players with maybe even a slap now and then.
Then there's Miles, who always smiles! He applauds his players, yes he yells ( all coaches d0) but his mannerisms on and off the field make him my pick for the coach with the best personality.
Miles never seems rude to reporters, and has a good ole southern charm about him, even though he's from Michigan. In fact, he could actually make me like those "damn yankees."
