Patrick Mahomes & Fiancé Announce Pregnancy
East Texas native and Super Bowl Champion quarterback Patrick Mahomes has announced that he and his fiancé are expecting a baby.
Mahomes and his fiancé Brittany Matthews announced on social media today that the couple will be expecting their first child.
The two are high school sweethearts from East Texas. The couple met at Whitehouse High School in Whitehouse, Texas, and started dating when Mahomes was in 10th grade.
When Mahomes went to Texas Tech to play football, Matthews attended UT Tyler to play soccer. When Mahomes wrapped up his football career in Lubbock, he was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs, while Matthews went on to play professional soccer in Iceland when she left college. By the time Matthews wrapped up her first season (a championship season by the way) in Iceland, she was ready to move to Kansas City with Mahomes. That was 2017, and by 2018, Mahomes had taken over as the starting quarterback for the Chiefs.
Since then, Mahomes has gone on to become the NFL MVP and a Super Bowl champion. While Matthews has started her own fitness brand, Brittany Lynne Fitness.
Earlier this year, the same day that Mahomes received his Super Bowl ring, he proposed to Matthews.
Now the couple have another big piece of news with the announcement of their pregnancy. It's safe to say that, while many are having a rough 2020, Mahomes and Matthews are having a pretty solid year.
