New Orleans’ Anthony Davis Is First Team All NBA
For the third time overall, and second time in a row, the New Orleans Pelicans have seen their superstar Anthony Davis named to the All-NBA First Team. Cementing Davis as the Pelicans' franchise players, and one of the best players in franchise history.
Joining A-D on that Superstar squad are LeBron James, James Harden, Damian Lilliard and Kevin Durant.
Davis finished the year second in the NBA in points per game (just over 28) and first in the NBA in blocks per game (2.6 per game). He's proven once again that he's one of the top all-around players in the NBA.
In addition to the First Team All-NBA honors, Davis has been named one of three finalists for the league MVP Award. He's up against LeBron and James Harden for that. According to all of the "experts" Davis is a long shot to win that, in fact, his name is barely mentioned in that two horse race.
The other thing this All-NBA honor does, is now make Davis eligible to sign a "supermax" contract extension next summer, which would pay him an estimated $230 million.
