After a long road trip, the Shreveport Mudbugs will be back on home ice this weekend.

The Bugs have been on the road to avoid Shreveport's Mardi Gras season, and they have been putting work in while they've been gone. They have won 8 games in a row, and are up to 2nd place in the North American Hockey League South Division. They're 7 points behind first place Lone Star, so they will need to keep stringing together these long winning streaks, while hoping Lone Star hits a rough patch at the same time.

This weekend, the Mudbugs host the Corpus Christi Ice Rays, and team they just swept on the road.

Not only that, but there are a lot of promotional events taking place this weekend with the Mudbugs. Including the always popular Pooches at the Pond promotion:

The Shreveport Mudbugs hockey organization has raised more banners in Shreveport than any other franchise. From the WPHL to the CHL, and now the North American Hockey League (NAHL), the Bugs have tons of banners hanging over their ice. This has made them one of, if not the, most successful sports franchises in Shreveport.

While the team has a proud tradition of winning on the ice, they also have a tradition of looking really good while doing it.

The Mudbugs logo has become legendary with hockey fans all over. There are hockey fans that have never stepped foot inside the state of Louisiana who have seen the logo before. Whether in all-time hockey logo rankings, loaded by fans into video games, or the occasional jersey that gets smuggled out of state that earns attention.
