ESPN's attempt to place Jason Witten in the Monday Night Football announce both with play by play man Joe Tessitore while Booger McFarland roamed the sidelines in the "booger mobile" was not met with favorable praise in 2018.

Following the season, Witten unretired from football, returning to the Dallas Cowboys to play tight end.

With Witten gone from the booth, speculation ran rampant on what kind of changes ESPN would make to the MNF announce team.

As it turns out, the only change will be the absence of Witten.

ESPN announced today Tessitore would be joined by McFarland in the booth, while Lisa Salters remains in place as the sideline reporter.

John Parry will serve a role on the broadcasts when officiating questions arise. His official title is "officiating analyst" for MNF.

McFarland, a two-time Super Bowl Champion and LSU alum is thrilled to be back on MNF.

"I'm so excited to continue to be part of Monday Night Football, especially with the opportunity to be in the booth for the 50th season, working with true professionals and friends like Joe and Lisa," McFarland said in a statement. "We have a great slate of games, and I look forward to starting our journey in Louisiana, where I was born and raised."

New Orleans hosts the first Monday Night Football game of the season when the Saints welcome the Houston Texans to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome on September 9th.
