The City of Minden could be overrun this weekend with rodeo lovers who are too excited to just get out of the house for some kind of event, especially when it's their favorite sport!

The Minden LRCA Rodeo is slated for this Friday, August 21 and Saturday August 22 at the Jack Batton Arena on Whitlock Street in Minden, Louisiana. The actual rodeo will begin at 8:00 pm both nights, but for the youngsters 8 years of age and younger, they'll host "Mutton Busting" nightly at 7:00 pm so you'll want to make plans to arrive early.

In speaking with Duston Reeme about the rodeo, you could hear the excitement in his voice. "This is an event that was held annually for years and then it was gone for a number of years. Last year we revived it, but it was only a one night event, but it was so successful, we're bringing it back this year for two nights. We're going to put on an incredible event and we're thinking it's going to be huge with as many as 45 bull riders alone, scheduled between the two nights."

Along with the bull riding they'll feature all the standard LRCA Rodeo events including calf roping, steer wrestling, bronc busting and what they like to call "Hometown Barrels" each night.

Admission is $10 for adults each night and kids 10 and under get in free.
