Magic Strikes Again In Baton Rouge For LSU Baseball
Something special is starting to happen again around this LSU Baseball team...
There was more late game magic at Alex Box Stadium last night, as the Tigers found themselves down 5-1 in the 8th inning. Then the Tigers roared back for six runs highlighted by Beau Jordan’s second career grand slam.
LSU ended up with a 7-5 win.
Early in the game, LSU was down as much as 5-1, but after Jordan's massive blast, Todd Peterson pitched a perfect 9th inning for his third save on the year.
LSU has won four in a row, putting their overall record at 30-20, and they are now 13-12 in the SEC. If they can string together some more wins to round out the year, they could find themselves in a position to crack the NCAA Tournament. As of right now, multiple projection websites have them making the tournament, but a couple slip ups down the stretch could easily knock them out.
Game 2 is tonight at 7 PM, and can be heard on 1130 The Tiger, which is 1130AM KWKH in Shreveport and Bossier City.
