LSU wide receiver Russell Shepard played Saturday after being ineligible for the first three games.

The junior made his season debut at the West Virginia game,  running out onto the field during  the Tigers’ first offensive play.

Shepard hasn't been allowed to play after he spoke to a teammate during the summer about that teammate’s interview with an NCAA investigator.

Shepard also lined up in the backfield during the first half and gained 3 yards.

Shepard caught his only pass in the third quarter, a 16-yarder from Jarrett Lee to the Mountaineers’ 19-yard line.

It amazes me how little TV announcers actually know about the LSU Tigers.  I had already posted a story that said Shepard would play Saturday, only to hear Brent Musburger announce that Shepard would not be playing.

That'll teach me to listen to TV announcers.  I simply turned the radio on am 1130,  KWKH, to hear Shreveport's legendary Jim Hawthorn get it right.

We're not sure how much longer fans will have to endure Musburger.   But,  never fear,  because LSU sportscasters are here on your home for LSU football,  1130,  KWKH.
