So, I'm breaking out my LSU blouses, shirts and jackets, and my husband and son are grabbing their LSU T-shirts and caps and we're heading  down to our first ever LSU game at Tiger Stadium for Saturday's homecoming game.

No. 1 LSU will rout their "Purple Day" opponent,  Western Kentucky,  but the thrill of being in Death Valley for homecoming is almost too exciting to be true.

Pinch me.  I must be dreaming.  A friend gave us tickets,  so that's why we're getting to go.  Baton Rouge, here we come.  Can't wait to try some really delicious Cajun food for the tailgate party.

We'll have two teenagers with us,  so we won't get too out of hand!

You can hear all the excitement with pregame at 4 pm and kickoff at 6 on your home for LSU football,  AM 1130,  KWKH.

In honor of our first ever trip to Tiger Stadium to watch  No. 1  LSU  play,  I took Alabama jokes on the morning show today.  I'm passing along the ones that were called in.

  • Did you hear about the Alabama football player who tried to commit suicide? They couldn't kick the chair out from under him!
  • The field goal kicker,  and that's the joke!
  • What did the Alabama graduate say to the LSU graduate? "Welcome to McDonald's,  may I take your order?"
  • After Nick Saban dies and enters the Pearly Gates, God takes him on a tour. He shows him a little two-bedroom house with a faded Alabama banner hanging from the front porch. "This is your house, coach," God says happily. "Most people don't get their own houses up here." Nick looks at the house, then turns around and looks at the one sitting on top of the hill. It's a huge, beautiful two-story mansion with white marble columns and little patios under all the windows. LSU flags line both sides of the sidewalk and a huge LSU banner hangs between the marble columns. "Thanks for the house, God," Nick says. "But let me ask you a question. I get this little two-bedroom house with a faded banner and Miles gets a mansion with LSU banners and LSU flags flying all over the place.  Why is that?" God looks at him seriously for a moment, then says, "Nick, that's not Miles's house. That's mine!"
