(From AP)  LSU Tigers are now ranked No. 1 in the AP Top 25 College Football poll, after  bumping the Sooners to No. 2.  It was LSU's devastating on the road defeat of  West Virginia in Morgan Town Saturday, 47-21 that made the difference.

Also, Oklahoma had serious trouble against Missouri, having to come from behind to win 38-21.

This is the Tigers' third road victory over a ranked opponent so far  this season.

LSU Coach Les Miles said he thought the Tigers' new ranking was "premature."  He said, “I like the position we’re in, but I don’t think we’re the best team in college football today....I think there is a hope and want and desire to be there. I don’t know if we’re good enough right now to do everything we want to do. That’s putting the cart before the horse.”

Jarrett Lee passed for three touchdowns and Michael Ford rushed for two.

This is LSU"s first top ranking since the Tigers won the national championship in 2007.

Alabama is ranked No. 3  now,  after mistreating the Razorbacks  Saturday,  38-14.

This Saturday,  LSU takes on Kentucky down in Baton Rouge.  I'm predicting another romp!  Should Nick Sabin be concerned about the match up between the Crimson Tide and the Fighting Tigers on Nov. 5th?

I think so!
