The LSU Men's Basketball team knew there was only one way they were going to make the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament, they were going to need to make some serious noise in the SEC Tournament. Their hope was to pull everything together and win the whole thing, or at least hit some upsets, and make it to the SEC Finals.

However that's not how it went down in St. Louis for the LSU Tigers team as they were bounced out of the SEC tournament by Mississippi State after one game.

The Bulldogs held on for an 80-77 win over the Tigers. Mississippi State built a 19 point lead as they hit a season high 10 three-pointers, but LSU got back into the game thanks to Tremont Waters 28 points and six assists. The loss drops LSU’s record to 17-14 and they’ll find out on Sunday night if that’s good enough to get in the NIT.
