LSU Gets Destroyed By Texas A&M, Ends Disappointing Season

LSU's disappointing basketball season (*NIT still a possibility) concluded on Saturday in stunning fashion with one of the most lopsided losses in program history.

The Tigers entered Saturday's SEC tournament semi-final game with the Texas A&M Aggies clinging to NCAA Tournament hopes with a run in the conference tourney.

They left Saturday's game on the wrong end of a 71-38 beatdown.

"It's embarrassing and humiliating," said ESPN college basketball analyst Dick Vitale on TV. "They're playing this way with a guy who's supposed to be #1 pick in NBA draft."

Ben Simmons still remains the consensus #1 overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, but his likely lone season at LSU will go down as a disappointment.

Individually this season, Simmons played well, putting up stat lines indicative of a top pro prospect.

Today, he was decent, going for 10 points and 12 rebounds, good for his 23rd double-double of the season to lead the NCAA.

However, his team got blown out and finishes the year 19-14

On Saturday, LSU went through a 13 minute stretch in the first half without a field goal, trailing 35-13 at halftime.

Ironically, head coach Johnny Jones said he liked his team's energy heading into the locker room.

Energy was no better in the second half as the Aggies extended their lead to 33 when all was said and done.
