LSU Coach Will Wade Scores Massive Win in the Courtroom
LSU Men's Basketball Coach Will Wade will not have to testify in a college basketball bribery trial that’s set to begin next week in New York.
Wade, along with Arizona Men's Basketball Coach Sean Miller, were subpoenaed to testify in the case, but judge Edgardo Ramos ruled that their testimonies would be irrelevant to the bribery charges the two defendants are facing.
The defendants are recruiting middleman Christian Dawkins and former Adidas representative Merl Code.
Wade had previously been suspended by LSU for concerns around this case. However over the last few weeks, some changes have taken place with that suspension. First, Wade was reinstated by LSU, and then LSU Athletic Director Joe Alleva stepped down from his post after Wade's reinstatement. Scott Woodward, the former Athletic Director at Texas A&M, is now the AD in Baton Rouge.
Roughly two months ago, it seemed like Wade had coached his last game for the Tigers. But this morning it would appear that he's on track to maintain his post.
