LSU Assistant Coach Jerry Sullivan Retiring
The LSU Tigers will be losing one of their football assistants at the end of the month.
A 50-year coaching veteran, who has had two different stints with the Tigers, Sullivan returned to the program as a consultant in 2017, before moving into his current role of senior offensive assistant/passing game coordinator for the 2018 campaign.
The 74-year old Sullivan previously served as wide receivers coach for LSU from 1984-1990.
Prior to his second stint with LSU, Sullivan was receivers coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars from 2012-2016, after serving in the same role with the San Francisco 49ers from 2005-2010.
A native of Miami, Florida, Sullivan was the offensive coordinator for the Arizona Cardinals in 2003.
Sullivan also worked for the San Diego Chargers (1992-1996) and Detroit Lions (1997-2000) in the NFL, as well as Kansas St. (1971-1972), Texas Tech (1973-1975), South Carolina (1976-1982), Indiana (1983), and Ohio St. (1991) in the college ranks.
