The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs went down to Tallahassee and beat the Florida State Seminoles 71-66 on their home court to advance to the 2nd round of the NIT.

Tech, as the #5 seed, beat #4 seed Florida State after ending the season on a three game losing streak.  the Bulldogs had the nations longest winning streak at 18 games heading into their final two conference contests.  Their season ended on a sour note and it may have cost them a bid to the NCAA Tournament.

So, on to the NIT.  With a tough draw against perennial ACC powerhouse Florida State on the docket... the Bulldogs pulled off the upset and will face the winner of tonight's Charleston Southern/Southern Mississippi match-up.

The Bulldogs trailed 28-24 at the half and were down by as many as 9 points during the game.  Raheem Appleby scored a game-high 27 points.  Appleby was good on 12 field goal attempts, tying a school record for field goals made in the NIT.
