Louisiana College Football Might Have A Tough Opening Weekend
The season has actually started for Louisiana's college football squads.
On Thursday night, Southeastern and ULM got together for a Warhawks 34-31 victory, and Northwestern State took their squad to Texas A&M. Northwestern State was thumped by Texas A&M 59-7, but Demons wide receiver Jazz Ferguson did have four catches for 129 yards and one touchdown.
Now today, more local teams will be kicking off.
Several FCS schools in Louisiana will have tough challenges on the road today. Southern is at #16 TCU. Even though TCU is going to be missing 4 players because of "disciplinary reasons", they're still expected to win big.
Nicholls is at Kansas; the Colonels are returning 18 starters from a team that went 8-4 last year.
McNeese visits Northern Colorado from the Big Sky Conference. The Bears were 3-7 last year, while James Tabary enters his third season as the starting Q-B for the Pokes.
Two big Louisiana Schools will be looking at match ups away from home that are very winnable. Including LSU in Dallas against Miami, and Louisiana Tech at South Alabama.
