Lewis’ Last Telethon
Jerry Lewis is making his final telethon appearance after logging some 900 hours of live TV time, encouraging America to help fund research seeking treatments and cures for muscular dystrophy.
The entertainer announced his retirement as host of the annual Muscular Dystrophy Association Labor Day Telethon. He will continue to serve MDA as its National Chairman as he's done since the early 1950's.
This year's six hour prime-time Telethon is set to air on September 4th.
