It turns out Jim from Atlanta, Texas,  correctly answered that Jim Reeves dog was a Collie named Cheyenne.   Reeves' best friend is buried at the Jim Reeves Memorial where there's a statue of the entertainer, who died at the height of his popularity in a plane crash in 1964.

His private single engine plane went down during a thunderstorm about 10 miles south of  Nashville on July 31, 1964.   Reeves and his piano player-road manager,  Dean Manuel were the only ones aboard.  They were returning to their homes in Nashville from a business trip in Batesville, Arkansas.
