The New Orleans Saints haven't been known as a "defensive" team over the last decade. But this year, the Saints D has actually been making an impact this year. One of the big reasons the defense has been moving in a positive direction is rookie Marshon Lattimore.

He was a first round pick this year in the NFL Draft, and is paying off right away. The Ohio State product hasn't been playing much like a rookie, helping to lead the Saints secondary this season. Lattimore has now been rewarded for his great play, the Louisiana Radio Network has more on that:

"Marshon Lattimore was named NFL Defensive Rookie of the Month on Thursday for a spell that saw him intercept two passes, including one which he returned for a touchdown, and break up another five passes."

The Saints will play Tampa Bay this Sunday at noon.
