Hurricane Irene has caused Kenny Chesney to move Sunday’s Goin’ Coastal Tour show in Foxboro, Mass. to this Friday, August 26. Hurricane Irene is moving up the East Coast, and expected to hit the New England states some time Sunday morning. Chesney told his fans on Facebook that safety has to be the top priority. Saturday’s show in Foxboro is not affected at this time.

“I want the last weekend of the ‘Goin’ Coastal’ Tour to be a great experience for everybody,” he says, “but I also want it to be the safest experience for everyone. I’ve always said Foxboro is a highlight of our tour, because the fans are ready for a great night of music and fun no matter what night it is!”

Fans who can’t make Friday’s rescheduled concert in Foxboro, Mass. can get a refund at the point of purchase. All tickets for Sunday’s show will now be honored on Friday.

The comments on Chesney’s Facebook page about the hurricane warnings changing his concert date have been very positive. Even those who won’t be able to make the show this Friday seem to understand the decision.
