Though there is a sense of rivalry between the DC and Marvel movie universes (or at least jealously, which seems the only reason Warner Brothers was so desperate to make 'Justice League'), the people behind these films have no ill will towards their supposed competitors. 'Avengers' director Joss Whedon -- after a day where many disparaged the casting of Ben Affleck as the new Batman -- has thrown his support behind the filmmaker-turned-crimefighter.

In a tweet, Whedon had this to say about Affleck:

Batman and Superman movie (which Warner Brothers currently has listed as 'The Untitled Zack Snyder Super Hero Film'), or what Affleck's take on the character and material will be at this early stage. Frankly, they haven't even written the thing yet, or are just getting their ideas together, but Affleck's been good before, and he knows that 'Daredevil' isn't his best work.

'The Untitled Zack Snyder Super Hero Film' is set to hit theaters July 17, 2015.
