Sierra Melnick from Haughton High School's JROTC reached out to me wanting to spread the word regarding the 5k in honor of Jessie Meriwether this Saturday. Without a doubt, the answer was yes. Jessie was a student at HHS and was loved by a lot of people. I know this because I distinctly remember helping to publicize fundraisers for her and speaking with several of her supporters. It's comforting to know that good things are happy in memory of Jessie. So pull on your running shoes and do something GOOD this weekend!

Do you enjoy running ? Want to support a good cause while running ? Haughton High's JROTC is sponsoring the Jessie Memorial 5K on Saturday April 27th, 8:30 a.m., at Haughton High. This memorial represents Jessie Meriwether, who was diagnosed with leukemia and passed away, and is representing others who have been treated with cancer. Help support her memory and wipeout cancer! All proceeds go to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. For further information contact Tony Zucco at 549-5493 or go online to sportspectrumusa.com
