WWE Hall of Fame Member JBL Is Coming To Shreveport
It's so exciting to have Shreveport's comic con, Geek'd Con, back on the schedule for 2021. We had to unfortunately miss the 2020 show due to the COVID pandemic restrictions around the state. But the show is back on for 2021, with a return set for August 13th-15th at the Shreveport Convention Center.
Before the pandemic, Geek'd Con had become one of the biggest pop culture events in the region. With guests like Michael Rooker, LeVar Burton, Elvira, Peter Mayhew, Chris Sarandon, and more.
Now Geek'd Con is coming back in 2021, and tickets are on sale now.
The lineup for Geek'd Con 2021 already features Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member Alice Cooper, Jay from Jay & Silent Bob fame Jason Mewes, and a ton of other great stars.
Also for 2021, Geek'd Con welcomes WWE Hall of Fame member and Grand Slam Champion, John Bradshaw Layfield.
JBL is a Texas native who became an All American playing football at Abilene Christian University. He also played professionally for the San Antonio Riders.
But it might be his pro wrestling career he's best known for.
Bradshaw was a mainstay during pro wrestling's historic Attitude Era with the APA and Ministry of Darkness. But his career hit its stride after he put on his signature cowboy hat and tie.
When the JBL persona hit the WWE, he dominated. He became WWE Champion, which he held for a Smackdown record 280 days. He went on to win the Intercontinental Championship and United States Championship, to match with his Tag Team Championships, which made him the 10th Grand Slam Champion in WWE history.
After his in-ring career, JBL became one of the most iconic announcers in WWE's modern history.
In addition to his wrestling history, JBL has been a financial analyst on cable TV for almost 2 decades. He's worked for CNBC, Fox News, and Fox Business News.
