JeffBet crunched the numbers, analyzing the average monthly Google searches for all things lovey-dovey, from romance to engagement rings, across the entire country. 

“It’s clear that people are excited to celebrate their love. And with high Google searches for ‘engagement rings’ in many states, perhaps loved ones are gearing up for some serious proposals in the run-up to Valentine’s Day, or even on the day itself. Love is truly in the virtual air!”

So, which states are wearing their hearts on their sleeves? Here’s the full list: 

  1. Massachusetts: With a whopping 1,848 average searches per month per 100,000 people, Massachusetts is the undisputed champion. Think 638 searches for ‘Valentine’s Day’, 269 for ‘engagement rings’, and 179 for ‘florists near me’.
  1. New York: Coming in second, New York is no slouch with an average of 1,809 Google searches per month for every 100,000 residents. Highlights include 616 searches for ‘Valentine’s Day’, 270 for ‘engagement ring’, and 220 for ‘florists’.
  1. New Jersey: Snagging the bronze, New Jersey boasts 1,690 average monthly Google searches per 100,000 residents, featuring 584 searches for ‘Valentine’s Day’, 252 for ‘engagement rings’, and 51 for ‘romance movies’.

The love fest continues with Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland, Florida, Georgia, Connecticut, and Colorado rounding out the top 10 most romantic states.
