It was back in the Summer of ‘22 when El Pasoans were mourning the loss of their beloved Choco Tacos.

Ok, I’m being dramatic but there really were people who were sad to hear the news that Klondike would be discontinuing the beloved desert after four decades.

Well, after a two-year hiatus, Choco Tacos is set to make a triumphant comeback, and they're bringing a delicious twist with them.

Fox Business recently reported on a new collaboration between Taco Bell and Salt & Straw, a renowned Portland-based ice cream brand, to revive this beloved treat.

At Taco Bell’s recent "Live Más Live" event in Las Vegas, Salt & Straw's co-founder Tyler Malek unveiled a new creation: the cinnamon ancho chocolate taco.

This reinvented Choco Taco features a hand-pressed waffle cone filled with cinnamon ancho ice cream, dipped in chocolate, with toasted brown rice.

But the transformation doesn't stop there. The new Choco Taco experience introduces dessert hot sauces which include chocolate chili, cinnamon wild berry, and mango jalapeño, accompanied by a cheesecake dip.

While these mouthwatering treats will initially be available exclusively at Salt & Straw scoop shops and online for nationwide shipping, fans eagerly anticipate their potential return to Taco Bell restaurants.

Despite Klondike's initial discontinuation, there's still hope on the horizon for Choco Taco enthusiasts, with the company expressing intentions to reintroduce them to ice cream trucks in the future.
