Rain rain go away, come again another day...
If you've ever thought Louisiana gets more than our fair share of rain, you're absolutely right.
In fact, three Louisiana cities have just been named "The Rainiest Cities in the U.S.".
That's right, 3 out of the 10 rainiest U.S. cities are right here in Louisiana, and one is in Acadiana.
When we think of U.S. cities that get a lot of rain, chances are you might immediately think of Seattle, Washington.
We always hear of Seattle always being overcast, gloomy, and raining all the time.
While that is true, Seattle didn't even make the top 10 when it comes to the U.S. cities with the most rain according to a new report by redfin.com.
Ironically, Redfin is a real estate company based in Seattle.
From NOLA.com -
"All 10 of the cities that get the most precipitation were in the South, where it's not uncommon to see strong storms that produce several inches of rain in short spurts.
But the study used two metrics to rank cities: total inches of rain per year and the number of rainy days per year."
Interestingly, when you look at the data showing the number of rainy days annually, Louisiana doesn't have any cities on the list.

"This can create confusion. For example, some cities see hundreds of days with measurable precipitation but have lower rainfall totals, while others see lots of sun and receive huge amounts of rain."
However, when you look at the rainfall data of total inches of rain per year, the list looks very different.
So it's not the number of rainy days in Louisiana, but how much it rains when it does that has 3 Louisiana cities on the list of "The Rainiest Cities in the U.S."
