Gypsy Rose Blanchard gained public attention due to her role in a high-profile case involving the murder of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard.
The case received widespread media coverage and later inspired various documentaries, television series, and articles.
Dee Dee Blanchard, Gypsy's mother, claimed that Gypsy suffered from a variety of severe health issues, including leukemia, muscular dystrophy, and other chronic conditions.
Dee Dee portrayed herself as a devoted caregiver and advocate for her daughter, receiving sympathy and support from the community.
However, in 2015, Dee Dee was found dead in her home, and it was later revealed that Gypsy, along with her internet boyfriend Nicholas "Nick" Godejohn, had been involved in orchestrating her mother's murder.
In 2016, Gypsy Rose was sentenced to 10 years in prison for her role in the death of her mother.
Nick Godejohn was sentenced to life in prison for his role in the murder.
On Dec. 28, 2023, at 3:30 a.m., Gypsy Rose Blanchard was granted an early release from prison.
What most people didn't know is that on July 22, 2022, Gypsy Rose married Louisiana man Ryan Anderson in a small prison ceremony.

Who Is Gypsy Rose's Husband?
Ryan Scott Anderson, 37 of Lake Charles, Louisiana is a special education teacher.
Anderson met Gypsy Rose Blanchard, now Gypsy Rose Anderson, during the pandemic in 2020.
With work almost at a standstill, he had a co-worker at the time who had just watched The Tiger King on Netflix and wanted to write Joe Exotic a letter.
According to people.com, Anderson told his co-worker -
"I'll tell you what, if you write him, I'll write Gypsy Rose Blanchard.' And I had watched her documentary Mommy Dead and Dearest, like three years before that.
And then The Act had came out and I've never watched The Act, but I remember my friends talking about The Act and I was like, I'll watch the documentary again. So it was kind of fresh on my mind."
To his surprise, within a few weeks, he heard back from Gypsy Rose.
Due to the pandemic, Blanchard and Anderson weren't able to meet in person until a year after they began emailing one another.
According to conandaily.com, Anderson has a child from a previous marriage.
Anderson is 5 years older than Gypsy, who is 32-years-old.
On July 22, 2022, Anderson and Blanchard were married at Chillicothe Correctional Center with no guests.
Interestingly, in November of 2022, Gypsy wrote to her family stating she decided to file for annulment and end her marriage with Anderson.
The two were able to work things out and say they plan on having a wedding reception and celebration soon "with all of our family and our friends and the dress and the cake and everything because we deserve that. I deserve that. He deserves that" Gypsy tells people.com.
