Former Saint, Jameis Winston, Responds to Allegations of Wrong Doing
(KMDL-FM) Every one of us faces pressures in our day-to-day lives. For gifted athletes, those pressures of life can be amplified by the constant scrutiny of the microscopic lens that is public perception. Jameis Winston knows a thing or two about being in the public eye. He also knows about scrutiny, which is why he is coming clean with some great advice following allegations of wrongdoing that were directed at him.
Winston was the #1 overall selection in the 2015 NFL Draft. He was chosen by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers following an outstanding college career at Florida State University. Winston wasn't a "bust" for the 'Bucs, but he wasn't a rousing success either.
When Did Jameis Winston Come to New Orleans?
However, when the Saints needed a quarterback following the retirement of Drew Brees, Winston was available, and he played admirably for the Black and Gold during his tenure in New Orleans. Again, he wasn't Drew Brees, but he wasn't awful either. Winston is now on the roster of the New York Giants and has certainly shown flashes of the talent that earned him that top draft selection ten years ago.
Besides football, if you mention the name Jameis Winston, the other subject that will often come up in conversation is crab legs. You see, when Winston was in college, there were stories that he pilfered some crab legs from a local supermarket. The stigma of that story led to memes and some good-natured and not-so-good-natured kidding about the allegations.

Was Jameis Winston Charged With Stealing Crab Legs?
Winston even played off his "criminal notoriety" by doing an advertisement for a fish market in New York. He even closed out the advertisement with the line "They're even better when they're free". Now that is making lemonade out of lemons, but Winston, who has always displayed a passion for improving the lives of those around him, has taken the message one step further.
On his TikTok account, he posted some sage life advice for young people who are having to make tough choices in life. And if you know Jameis, you can easily detect his sense of humor.
In the clip, it shows Winston looks longingly at the New York Subway. As the train arrives, Winston offers this message. "In your 20s, you will walk by the seafood section at Publix...it's very important you keep walking". Well played, Jameis, well played indeed.
