When the new season of The Voice kicked off last month, we were pretty darn excited because a Shreveport, LA favorite successfully turned coach Reba McEntire's chair! However, that journey came to an end last night for NWLA's own, Al Boogie.

Who is Al Boogie?

If you like your music with a side of twang and a nice beard, you'll love Alex Troegel aka Al Boogie. He's the lead singer of Ole Whiskey Revival and the Al Boogie Trio. Think honky tonk southern rock outlaw country. I absolutely love watching these guys play and try to catch their shows whenever I can. And if you thought Mansfield, LA's own Al Boogie looked familiar on The Voice this season, it was because he was actually already a contestant on The Voice earlier this year. Unfortunately, his second time on the show wasn't a 'charm.'

Last night, as a member of 'Team Reba,' Al had to face off against Ruby Leigh in the Battle Rounds and Reba McEntire's song choice wasn't exactly in his favor. The two sang Jolene by Dolly Parton.

As you can tell, Al was there to battle it out, but the song choice was simply not in his favor.

Alex is the 37-year-old son of Bill and Sherri Troegel. He grew up in Mansfield, went to LSU Shreveport, and is married to Stacey Lynn Brown Troegel. He's also a father, a dog dad, a good musician, an entertainer, and by all accounts, a good guy.
