Early Morning Shreveport Shooting Injures Sleeping Woman

At approximately 1:52 a.m. on Thursday, December 7, 2023 the Shreveport Police Department responded to calls regarding a shooting incident in the 6600 block of Canal Boulevard.

According to SPD, a woman was sleeping in her bed when gunfire erupted.

The bullets came through her window, striking her in the abdomen. Her injuries were deemed non-life-threatening, and she was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Upon further investigation, SPD discovered several shell casings in the woman's backyard.

Witnesses reported seeing a possible suspect fleeing the scene after the gunfire stopped, but no description has been made available at this time.
