Shreveport-Bossier Restaurants that Have Closed in 2026
I love discovering a new locally owned restaurant. And I am not afraid to try new kinds of food. So it's always awesome to see new restaurants opening up in our community. But I know the track record for restaurants. It's a tough business. We are about mid-way through the year and folks in the food business face so many hurdles. Inflation has hit hard. Finding workers who will show up consistently is also a critical problem.
Some restaurants just can't make it right now.
I'm sad to say, several in the Shreveport Bossier area have closed this year. And I probably don't have the full list.
Shreveport Bossier Restaurants That Have Closed in 2026
Watching the doors close to Papa and Company in Bossier was sad. These folks serve one of the best hamburgers you will ever eat. But thankfully, they are still open on East Washington in Shreveport. Please drop by and check them out if you haven't yet. The food is so good. One of my sons loves the catfish they serve in addition to the burgers.
Another place that I hated to see close was the Wooden Spoon. This was a legendary spot for great sweets. The selection of cookies was unmatched. I also loved being able to send goodie baskets to someone who needed a pick-me-up.
One that closed that really troubles me is Tazikis on Line Avenue. So many of my friends loved the food at this place. But I am ashamed to say I never tried it. I always wanted to and I was "going to get to it". But I never did. For that I am really sorry.

There are several others that have shut down in our market and I am sure there will be more before the end of the year. But I do hope the next time you go out to eat, you will think about trying a locally owned spot. Let's do what we can to help keep them in business.
And if I have missed a spot that has closed this year, please let me know. I want to remember them all for the great food they served.
