A fatal shooting incident that occurred on I-20 in Caddo Parish on Tuesday, April 23rd, 2024 is under investigation.

According to Caddo Sheriff Jay Long, the incident happened around 10:15 this morning just off of I-20 Westbound near Exit 3 - the Greenwood exit. Officials say two drivers were seen arguing in the area. The driver of an 18-wheeler and dark colored SUV were spotted having words on the side of the road.

According to reports, the 18-wheeler driver was seen trying to flee on foot before being shot by the driver of the other vehicle. The so-far unnamed 18 Wheeler driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver left the scene on I-20 West.

As of writing, Exit 3 is still shut down and remains an active crime scene. Officials in Harrison County Texas have been given a description of the fleeing vehicle.

The fatal incident is suspected to be a result of road rage.
