Geek’d Con 2025 Lineup: What Celebrities Are Coming to Shreveport
Shreveport's comic con, Geek'd Con, is returning to the Shreveport Convention Center this August. The event will be celebrating its 10th anniversary August 22nd through 24th, 2025.
Geek'd Con: A Decade of Economic Impact for Shreveport
Over the last decade, Geek'd Con has hosted over 160 celebrities from film, TV, comic books, and internet content creators. All of these celebrity guests have come to downtown Shreveport to meet fans, sign autographs, and take pictures. Giving Shreveport and Bossier City residents a chance to meet stars and create once-in-a-lifetime moments in their own backyard.
Boosting Louisiana Tourism: Geek'd Con's National Draw
But Geek'd Con isn't limited to Northwest Louisiana residents, the event welcomes fans from all over the United States. Fans have traveled from Washington, Michigan, Tennessee, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, and of course Texas, to attend the event.
Bringing in tourism dollars to Downtown Shreveport on an annual basis. Studies have shown the economic impact of the event can be between $1.4 and $2.2 million a year, and with 9 years already in the books, that means Geek'd Con has brought an estimated economic impact of at least $12 million to the Shreveport region. That's if every year was the minimum estimate of $1.4 million, so its likely closer to $15 million or $16 million over the last 9 years.
Star-Studded Reunions & Anniversaries Head to Downtown Shreveport
Based on this year's celebrity guest lineup, the 10th anniversary of Geek'd Con could be one of the biggest economic impacts yet. With numerous anniversary celebrations and cast reunions taking place during the weekend.
For example, the cast of hit shows like My Name is Earl and Charmed will be getting together in Downtown Shreveport. The two main stars of My Name is Earl, Jason Lee (Earl in the show) and Ethan Suplee (Randy in the show), will be getting together for photos with fans this year. There will also be a cast reunion for the tv series Charmed, featuring 4 main cast members. Charmed stars Rose McGowan, Holly Marie Combs, Brian Krause, and Dorian Gregory will all be appearing in Downtown Shreveport.
There will also be cast reunions for the Terrifier film series, the anime series Dragon Ball, and the DC Comics anime Suicide Squad ISEKAI.
Iconic Film Anniversaries Celebrated in Shreveport, Louisiana
Geek'd Con will also host anniversary celebrations as part of the 10th anniversary of the event. Including a huge 35th anniversary Shell-A-Bration with the cast of the original 1990 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film. This will include Robbie Rist (voice of Michelangelo), Brian Tochi (voice of Leonardo), Ernie Reyes Jr (martial artist suit actor for Donatello), and Kenn Scott (martial artist suit actor for Donatello). They will be joined by Shredder actor Francois Chau.
More Anniversaries and Stars for Shreveport Fans
Other anniversary celebrations include the cast of the movie Mallrats, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary. Three of the main cast, Jason Lee, Jeremy London, and Ethan Suplee will all be appearing. There will also be two stars from the 1995 Mortal Kombat film, celebrating its 30th anniversary, Chris Casamassa (Scorpion) and François Petit (Sub-Zero) coming to Downtown Shreveport.
There will be a couple more anniversaries being represented at Geek'd Con, like the 50th anniversary of The Rocky Horror Picture Show with actor Barry Bostwick. The original Flash TV series is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, and star John Wesley Shipp will be coming to Geek'd Con.
