Drax and Baby Groot Are the Highlights of Three New ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ Clips
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is just two short weeks away, which means Marvel is dropping a ton of teasy new material to get you pumped for the James Gunn-directed sequel. If you haven’t stopped listening to a self-made playlist of the “Awesome Mix Vol. 2” tracklist, unveiled this morning, hit pause and check out these three brand new clips.
The first clip debuted on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night as the Guardians cast stopped by the talk show to chat about the superheros’ latest space adventure. It finds Dave Bautista’s Drax and Zoe Saldana’s Gamora taking on a giant, tentacled beast with very thick skin. The solution? Drax decides to jump inside the teethy creature’s mouth.
A second clip has some fun banter between Drax and Bradley Cooper’s Rocket, the latter of whom stole some batteries from a very P.O.’ed sovereign fleet. And last but not least, there’s an extended look at the death button clip from the film’s first teaser. Just in case you thought there wouldn’t be enough painfully cute Baby Groot moments (but why would you think that?), this clip will prove otherwise. These latest sneak peaks follow another clip that debuted last night where Gamora and Chris Pratt’s Star Lord share a little dance to a Sam Cooke classic.
The Guardians sequel has already been earning a hefty wave of positive reactions from critics, praising the visuals, the feel-good humor and some surprising emotional flourishes. We’ll share our own full-length review next week, but until then you can start theorizing what the film’s five post-credit scenes will be. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hits theaters May 5.
