Glen Campbell Does Not Feel the Effects of Alzheimer’s [VIDEO]

Earlier this summer, Glen Campbell revealed that he has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.  The country music legend did his first TV interview with ABC News and shared the details of his illness.

His wife of almost 30 years, Kim Woolen, was  by his side. With a trusty guitar tucked under his arm, Campbell said he has yet to feel the effects of the disorder which destroys memory and hampers a person’s ability to function or conduct simple every day tasks. He said, “I ain’t felt anything yet. When’s it gonna get here?”

Not long after making that statement, the ‘Rhinestone Cowboy’ singer confessed that he has always been forgetful and said, “I am only what, 78?” Wife Kim reminded him he is 75.

Campbell was diagnosised seven months ago, and insted of allow it to force him into “early retirement,” he is ireleasing a new album and has scheduled a farewell tour. He can still sing and  play guitar, which he proves in the interview. These two things are crucial for him. “Music is a natural memory aide,” Woolen said. “Music is good medicine.”

His kids are performing with him onstage and the country music community is behind him, so Campbell is doing his best to show that you can live and work with Alzheimer’s.
