Get Ready to Party at Mardi Gras Parade

It's party time again - this time it's Mardi Gras'  Krewe of Centaur Parade,  and the route for it is backwards this year.  The parade kicks off Saturday at Preston Avenue. 

It will continue along East Kings Highway to Shreveport-Barksdale Highway,  heading north on Clyde Fant Memorial Parkway and end at Riverview Hall in downtown Shreveport for a Survivor Party.

Parade officials say "it's a smoother,  smarter way to conduct the parade."

Past parades have begun downtown and ended at East Kings Highway and Preston Avenue.  That route always presented a problem for parking.

Saturday's Krewe of Centaur is an  annual parade, which is one of the largest in  Louisiana.
