Former New York Yankees pitcher Hideki Irabu was reportedly found dead on Wednesday at his home in California,  according to published reports.

The coroner's office in Los Angeles has confirmed Irabu's death.

Officials suspect suicide.

Irabu joined the Yankees in 1997 and also played for the Texas Rangers and Montreal Expos.

He finished his career after six years with a 34-35 record and 5.15 ERA.
