Former Texas Tech Pitcher Parker Mushinski Gets Call-Up to the Houston Astros
Another former Texas Tech Red Raider has made the major leagues. Saturday, the Houston Astros called up pitcher Parker Mushinski from AAA Sugar Land.
Mushinski is a 26 year-old lefty reliever and he took the roster spot of Ryan Pressly, who was placed on the 10-day injured list with right knee inflammation.
The Astros are playing a weekend series at the Seattle Mariners and Mushinski's parents are in Seattle for Saturday night's game.
Mushinski pitched for three seasons with Texas Tech: 2015, 2016 and 2017. In his last two seasons, Mushinski took on higher leverage situations in his sophomore and junior seasons. Following his junior season, he was taken in the 2017 MLB Draft by the Houston Astros in the 7th Round (211th overall).
