To say that I was insulted when Bucee's chose an Alabama location for their first out-of-Texas experience would be an understatement.  I think that we can all agree that it would have much better if the super-sized truck stop company picked Louisiana or Arkansas for the new location - but that wasn't our call.

Now, the brand new Bucee's in Baldwin County, Alabama has come under fire for their fuel pricing.  Namely, it's too low.  According to WKRGOasis Travel Center has filed a lawsuit claiming that Bucee's is pricing their gas lower than cost in a bid to hurt other businesses in the area.  When the gigantic truck-stop opened, they were selling gas at $1.80 per gallon - a much lower price than anyone else in the state.  Oasis claims that this violates an Alabama law in place to prevent predatory pricing.

Bucee's legal representative had this to say:

Bucee’s has always provided our customers with the best experience on the highway,  from the world’s cleanest bathrooms, to great food.  Part of this experience includes high quality fuels, priced fairly and competitively, and we will always strive to be our customers’ choice in the markets where we operate."
