Look in the “About” section of your Facebook profile, Facebook has probably changed your primary email address to one you might not even know you have — or ever use at all.

Facebook launched a service some time back to sync with their launch of Facebook Timeline to replace your email address with an @facebook.com email address.

“As we announced back in April, we’ve been updating addresses on Facebook to make them consistent across our site,” a Facebook spokesperson told Mashable.com. “In addition to everyone receiving an address, we’re also rolling out a new setting that gives people the choice to decide which addresses they want to show on their Timelines.”

If you changed your URL on your Facebook profile to a custom one with your name or screen name, that is now the beginning of your new email address — for example, one might simply be johndoe@facebook.com if your Facebook URL was Facebook.com/johndoe.

So, where did your other email address go? Your normal address is still in Facebook’s system (of course it is). You can choose to hide your email address or change back to your normal email on your profile by editing your About section.
