Elderly Woman Murdered in Her East Shreveport Home

An elderly woman has been killed in her home in east Shreveport.

The Caddo Parish Coroner's office has identified the woman as 82-year-old Kathleen Cates. She was found dead in her home in the 800 block of East Washington Street in Shreveport's Anderson Island neighborhood.

Police responded to a 911 from a family member just before 8:30 p.m.and found the victim.

Cates has been stabbed several times. Police are on the hunt for a man and woman who came to her house to rake the yard.

Detectives believe the murderers also stole the victims car, a gold 2005 Honda Accord with the license tag NKL 858.

At this point no suspects have been identified.
