But New Orleans Saints legendary quarterback Drew Brees (probably the greatest Saint ever) is setting up a massive plan to "save" youth football. Brees intends to create a coed youth league that could potentially replace leagues like the Pop Warner Youth Football League. Like most of Brees' community work, this one will start in the New Orleans area. Here's more on this plan from the Louisiana Radio Network:

"(New Orleans) Saints Quarterback Drew Brees says he’s starting a coed, youth flag football league called Football ‘N” America. Brees says he would like it to become the premier youth coed flag football league and he believes it could save the entire sport, because it would allow kids to play at a young age without the risk of putting pads on. Leagues will start up this fall in New Orleans, Baton Rouge and Covington."
