Authorities will be back out on the Red River Sunday morning, searching another body – this time a woman. On Saturday afternoon, a man’s body was pulled from the water by deputies from the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Marine Unit. The deceased, said to to be an African-American male in his 40s, was taken from the river near the I-20 bridge.

The Caddo Sheriff’s Department was notified about 1pm Saturday after witnesses reported what was thought to be a body floating near the shore. Later in the day, a member of a tugboat crew reported seeing a woman’s body in the river.

Authorities say the man has been identified, but his name is being withheld pending notification of family members.
