Byrd Yellowjackets Against Carencro Tonight in Semi-Finals

Tonight's Byrd Yellowjackets match up against the  Carencro Golden Bears at the Cro Dome in Lafayette Parish  is expected to be a close exciting game. The game will air on your home for Byrd football, AM 1130, KWKH tonight beginning with  pregame at 6:30 and  kick off at 7.   You can hear the Voice of the Yellowjackets,  Charlie Cavell.

The Yellowjackets are No. 3 seeded against the No. 7 seeded Golden Bears in the semi-final playoffs in Class 5-A state playoffs.

Byrd heads into this game undefeated and Carencro won last weekend over Jesuit 28-17.   Byrd's perfect record is 12 wins and no losses.  The Golden Bears have lost only one game this season to Acadiana.

Byrd's  power and speed is unbelievable,  averaging 47 points a game with a powerhouse rushing game.   The Yellowjackets running game has been far more  effective than their passing game.  But the Byrd defense is expected to be up to tonight's challenge.

Carencro on the other hand has a reputable passing game.  Last week,  they had a total of 336 yards in their win over Jesuit.  Some are predicting this game to be as close as a win for Byrd by only one touchdown.
