‘Build the Dog Park’ Song Takes Big Bite at Mayor Glover

With all the controversy lately surrounding the building - or not building - of a dog park in Shreveport, you knew it was only a matter of time before someone wrote a song about it. Well, Shreveporter Jimmy Lynch has!

The song is called "Sittin' In the Dog Park", it's sung to the tune of Otis Redding's 60s classic "Dock of the Bay", and, no surprise, it takes a few major swipes at Mayor Cedric Glover, specifically Hizzoners's refusal to move forward with the building of the park despite the wishes of the City Council and, most recently, Judge Leon Emanuel.

As you know, the Mayor and the Council have been at loggerheads since Glover refused to implement funding for the park from the Red River Waterway Commission. Judge Emanuel recently ordered the Mayor to do so in a suit brought by Shreveport's Dog Park Alliance.
