Bill Gates and Warren Buffett may be billionaires, but that does not mean their entrepreneurial skills serve them well in the sports arena.

The duo decided to test their luck with ping-pong by going up against 16-year-old Ariel Hsing, who recently qualified for the US Olympic table tennis team, at the Berkshire Hathaway shareholders meeting this weekend.

This is actually the second time that Gates and Buffett have challenged Hsing. They faced off against her in 2007 when she was only 9 years old. But something tells us that bout didn’t go any better.

As befitting their status as tycoons, Gates and Buffett seemed to be getting the upper hand by using over-sized paddles. But it turns out they were just evening the playing field against the table tennis prodigy. It was all quite clear that Hsing was taking it easy on them. After all, she spent more than an hour battling all challengers as part of the weekend-long event.

Hsing is currently attending high school in San Jose, California. Once the school year is over, she will compete in tournaments domestically and in Brazil before heading to London for the summer Olympics in 2012.
