The college football season opened this past weekend with a few games, but this weekend, things kick into high gear. There are some games on Thursday night. Louisiana Tech visits Missouri while Penn State is at Purdue. I might check out those games this week. But I will be busy channel surfing on Saturday watching a host of games.

This is just a small list of all the matchups on the menu this weekend. But these are the games drawing the most attention for me. Saturday games worth checking out are:

Sam Houston at Texas A&M

Colorado State at Michigan

UTEP at Oklahoma

One of the best games of the day is Oregon at Georgia. This game pits #11 against #3 and will be one of the key games of the day.

Cincinnati at Arkansas is another game of ranked teams. It’s 23 vs 19 and should be a good contest.

I will also checkout Troy at Ole Miss. Troy has been a spoiler in the past and it could happen this weekend.

Utah at Florida will be a test for the SEC team. Utah comes in ranked #7 and Florida is unranked.

No doubt the biggest game of the day is Notre Dame at Ohio State. This pits #5 against #2 and will have the attention of the nation on this contest.

Alabama opens the season at home with one of its cupcakes on the menu. The Tide will take on Utah State.

UL Monroe has a tough battle ahead, on the road at Texas.

And the weekend is not over on Saturday. The LSU Tigers open the season on Sunday in the Superdome against Florida State. Kickoff is set for 7:30PM.
