My friend Robert went fishing Tuesday and caught an 8-pound bass on his first cast. Then he got a 7-pounder the second time he threw out his line.

You're not gonna believe this, on his third cast he caught his first ever bass over 11 pounds!

And then his cell phone rang.

It was the family doctor calling to tell him that his wife had just been in a bad car wreck and she was in critical condition and in the ICU.

Robert told the doctor that he'd be there as soon as possible.

He hung up and started getting everything together and realized he was about to leave what was his best fishing day ever.

He decided five more minutes wouldn't hurt anything, he just wanted to get in a couple of more casts before heading to the hospital.  Then, time got away from him and he ended up fishing about 3 more hours, finishing his trip with 3 more bass over 10 pounds.

Then he started feeling guilty and drove as fast as he could to the hospital to check on his wife. He saw the doctor in the corridor and asked how she was doing.

The doctor gave him a dirty look and shouted, "You went ahead and finished your fishing trip didn't you! I hope you're proud of yourself! While you were out for the past four hours enjoying yourself on the Red River, your wife has been suffering in the ICU! You should have just stayed out there all day, because it will more than likely be the last fishing trip you ever take! For the rest of her life she will require 'round the clock care. And you'll be taking care of her from now on!"

Robert was feeling so guilty he broke down and cried.

Then the doctor chuckled and said, "I'm just pulling your leg. She's dead. What'd you catch?"
