Barksdale AFB Wins Several Awards in Global Strike Challenge

Several trophies will stay in Northwest Louisiana after the sixth annual Global Strike Challenge.

Each year military members from all across the country meet for the Global Strike Challenge. It's the "world's premier Bomber, Intercontinental Ballistic Missile, Helicopter Operations, and Security Forces competition." Barksdale Air Force Base hosted the event aimed at keeping our airmen sharp on their skills in a fun and engaging manner.

Who doesn't love a little friendly competition?

This year's scores were revealed during an event held on base November 15. Barksdale Air Force Base as a whole held their own bringing home quite a few awards. In addition to these trophies, two of our local squadrons were recognized as well.

Fairchild Trophy for Best Bomb Wing: 2nd Bomb Wing, Barksdale

Mitchell Trophy (Best Bomb): 343d Bomb Squadron, Barksdale

Bartsch Trophy (Best Electronics Countermeasures): 20th Bomb Squadron, Barksdale

Best Bomber Nuclear Load Team: 2nd Bomb Wing, Barksdale

Best Bomber Conventional Load Team: 2nd Bomb Wing, Barksdale
